About AMD stock

Advanced Micro Devices was founded in 1969 and went public in 1972. For decades it was the perennial second place to Intel, and by 2015 the stock had fallen below $2 amid talk of bankruptcy. Under CEO Lisa Su the Ryzen and EPYC chip lines turned the company around, and AMD rose more than 50-fold from that low.

Frequently asked questions

What would $1,000 in AMD in 2015 be worth today?+

Set the backtest start year to 2015 with no contributions, or use the 10-year row in the lump-sum table if that lines up. AMD's 2015 low was around $1.60 per share.

Does this AMD calculator include dividends?+

AMD does not pay a dividend, so the historical figures are the split-adjusted price return. If a dividend is introduced in the future the adjusted price data will include it automatically.

Where does the AMD price data come from?+

Historical and live prices for the stock are fetched from a market data feed and cached for one hour, so the numbers on this page track the current market with at most a short delay. The backtest uses daily data for periods under five years and weekly data for longer periods.
